A lot of customers ask us, "Why does my 32GB pendrive only show 29GB? Is it a fake?" Don’t worry, that’s totally normal for a 32GB USB drive to read as just 29GB. It all comes down to how the system and storage calculate things differently.

So, what’s the difference?

Our computer works with 1024 bytes, which is based on the decimal system.

That means 1024kb=1MB, 1024MB=1GB.

But the storage product uses base 1000 bytes, with 1000kb=1MB, 1000MB=1GB.

In addition, the system also occupies a little memory, so there is a certain difference between the actual capacity of the USB thumb drive and the displayed capacity, which is a normal phenomenon.

Because of different algorithms, the actual capacity of the USB memory stick is approximately 90% of the labeled capacity. There may be some errors at the same time, but not too large.
